Default new enough dirtbike sister site? and dirtbike suggestions

didnt newenough.com have a dirt bike sister site??

Looking to buy a dirtbike and wanted to see what was out there..

Also i've never ridden a dirtbike and looking to get into it this year.

Firstbike and all.

No idea what type to look at or such.
CR CRF Cf, wr yz etcc XR KX LX.. all these monikers

Just doing trailriding and no racing or such. I would like some direction here in terms of these and also what CC would be decent for tight twisty trails....

Tight and twisty screams for a 250cc machine. If you don't plan on racing and just want to use it for trail riding, look for something with electric start. WR250F, CRF250X, etc. If you want to be able to connect trails on pavement, an out of the box street legal machine would be nice. The new WR250R is street legal, as is the '07+ KTM 250 EXC.

If you are just getting started skip the new stuff and get an XR250R. Great Great bike with lots of aftermarket and perfect for the riding that you describe. The 250 four stroke MX style bikes are a bit high strung for trail riding. You could also look at the Suzuki DR400E and XR400R. The 230 bikes are ok but more budget on the suspension than the above bikes. Stick with an air cooled 4 stroke for your first trail bike. They are dead reliable, low maintenance and still a ton of fun.

There is no 07+ KTM 250 EXC thumper....only the 450 and 525(now 530) were/are street legal straight off the showroom floor. However, Husqvarna has the street legal TE250 that would be along those lines.

2 stroke is always an option with the Kawasaki KDX200 being a good reliable bike to pick up on the cheap and that will take a beating.
