Slow Rollin

Finally did it today on my R1, I held a 30MPH, 2nd gear wheelie for about 100 yards. I am pretty sure I could have done it further but there was a car in front of me so I had to put it down. I tried severel more times but I need more practice. I can hold an 80MPH wheelie for days but it feels so much more cool at 30 MPH........... and safer.

I take it you clutched it up in second at 30? I can ride one out in 2nd at about 60 but I am still not real comfortable doing it. At 30 in 1st all it takes is a little blip in the throttle and up she comes, kinda freaky:D

Was this a stand up or sit down? I just cant bring myself to stand up yet, but then again, I'm no stunter:D

Brandon, Yeah I know 1st gear on the R1 is scary as hell. In 2nd at 20 or 25MPH just pull the clutch in fast, rev it to about 10,000 and then just dump the clutch. Actually you might want to start at a lower RPM than 10,000 but it comes up rather controllably and smoothly, believe it or not. I am trying to get out of the fast wheelies I've set more than a couple down at over 130. Not a lot of fun, plus I thing think the slow rollin is the shit. :cigar

Akron, Ohio -- unfortunately. I've ridden to FL a couple times before and I'll do it again this summer. The ride down there is great, but it sure is tough for an out-of-towner to find any good roads when you're down there.

How long have you owned the R6? What color is it? Ever taken it to the track? You are fortunate to petite enough to fit comfortably on a 600 supersport -- sometimes I wish I wasn't as tall as I am.
