Default 1974 Honda CB360 carb swap

I hope this it the right place to ask this...

First is a '74 Honda CB360 considered vintage? and second, anyone know if I can put a different carb setup on one.

I have the original carbs but the diaphragms are shot (actually they are completely gone) and they are turning out to be difficult to find. I was looking through ebay and found some CB500 carbs (a set of 4) that look like I might be able to retro fit them onto the 360 (I'd only need 2) but I don't really know if that's a possibility or not. I've done similar things with VW bugs and Toyota trucks but I really don't know that much about motorcycles (yet)

Thank for any advice, and sorry if I posted this in the wrong section, please let me know.

Oh sure I know I can buy them new or re-built, but I only spent $300 on the whole bike, and aside from getting the front brake unstuck (done and working fine) the carbs are the only thing I need to fix to get it street ready. I just can't see spending $250 or more on carbs from 1974.

I'll keep looking for original parts but I'd like to get something in right now so I can ride the thing.

Thanks for the replies.

Was the 360 a twin or a inline 4?
I would be willing to bet that they used the same carbs on several different bike of the same timeframe.
Check ebay for cb400 carbs or maybe cm400 carbs.

I see old carbs for the Honda 360 on ebay quite often and most have good diaphragms. Look for a rusted set that aren't good for anything else except the diaphragms, they are pretty cheap. I wouldn't recommend using carbs from any other bike, even another year 360 because of possible differences in jets, needles, mixture tube orifices etc.. The diaphragm from a different year or model carb. may interchange, but i wouldn't try to use the entire carb.. Hope this helps, and good luck with your Honda, I have two '74's a CB360 and CL360 and they are great for backroad Saturday morning riding.
