+4" swinger?? *help*

Hey, I'm working on a CM400 and started turning this little guy into a "bobber"

This is the first time I've ever tried a project like this, so I'm sure I'll run into a couple of problems, so you might see me around these forums in the near future.

I'm really just trying to get the basics down...tractor seat, tall handlebars, sick paint job, extended swing arm

only thing is i'm not sure exactly how to do it, I know of a guy who knows a guy who is a pretty good welder. Its just that I can't stop thinking about how to get this swingarm chopped/welded and not have it fall apart on me while I'm out for a ride,

I was thinking of chopping it and sliding a ~8" tube into the gap and welding it that way with only 4" showing...(idk if this is making sense, lol) but the only problem would be finding the right material for the job...in theory i think it sounds good tho...

what do you guys think??

Check out a guy named Joe Wiseguy on EBay. He does swingarm bracing and up to 4 1/2" extensions on YamXS650s and he does a very good job.

He might be able to help you out...
