Just got my 09 Rebel and after 250 miles, I am very impressed with this little bike. I'm 53 and this is not my first bike but it's been 30 years since I rode a bike.
I would like to get louder pipes. Any suggestions? Kelvin |

I'm also against noise pollution. But, if you get louder pipes you might want to take into consideration that you may lose some horsepower unless you have your engine retuned for the new pipes. Personally, Harley loud sounds good, but lets face it, we have small engines and chainsaw loud doesn't exactly get it for me, so thats another reason for me.

I, too, am 53 and just started riding this summer. I suppose it's personal preference, but I find that one of the attractive qualities of the Rebel is that it doesn't shout through its exhaust, "hey, look at me!" When I was a young man, I just had to have glass pacs on my Mustang's exhaust. But now, in middle age, I'm much more content to quietly cruise down the road and allow others some peace. A loud motorcycle reminds me of that fellow three cars in front of you at the traffic light, bass blaring, windows vibrating, craving attention. I give Honda credit for creating a sensible, low decible, attractive exhaust system.
