The Honda GL1200I was more commonly known as the Honda Gold Wing 1200 Interstate. You may be looking for the GL1200 "Plain", GL1200A Aspencade, GL1200L Limited, or GL1200SEI Special Edition.

1984

1984 Honda GL1200I Gold Wing Interstate
1984 Honda GL1200I Gold Wing Interstate

GL1200I'84 - The Interstate for 1984 was similar to the 1100 cc unit of 1983. Unlike the 1984 GL1200'84, the Interstate had a full fairing, saddlebags, and trunk. It was available in three colors: Candy Wineberry Red, Pearl Siren Blue, and Senior Gray Metallic. It had analog instrumentation rather than the digital instruments of the Aspencade. The radio was optional. The frame serial number in California began 1HFSC1440EA000001 while in the rest of the U.S. it began 1HFSC1410EA000001. The engine serial number (for both California and the rest of the U.S.) began: SC14E-2400107

1985 Honda GL1200I Gold Wing Interstate

GL1200I'85 - You will probably notice that the basic Gold Wing (i.e., the one without the fairing & bags) was missing in 1985. Honda still fielded three wings, but dropped the bottom model and added one at the top. The 85 Interstate was just like the 1984 model except for the colors. There were still three available colors: Candy Wineberry Red, Starshine Silver Metallic, and Telstar Blue Metallic. The frame serial number in California began 1HFSC1442FA100001 while in the rest of the U.S. it began 1HFSC1415FA100001. 1986

1986 Honda GL1200I Gold Wing Interstate

GL1200I'86 - Although the Interstate for 1986 was the entry level model wing, it was still a good bike that differed only slightly from the previous two years. A rear fender splash guard was added. Only two colors were available: Candy Wineberry Red and Black. The frame serial number in California began 1HFSC1440GA200101 while in the rest of the U.S. it began 1HFSC141XGA200001. 1987

1987 Honda GL1200I Gold Wing Interstate

GL1200I'87 - Again the 1987 Interstate was like the previous year. The saddle changed to a tapered seat design with 3-stage foam. Two colors were available: Pearly Beige Metallic and Maethyst Gray Metallic. The frame serial number in California began 1HFSC1445HA300101 while in the rest of the U.S. it began 1HFSC1418HA300101.
