The engine was a liquid cooled single cylinder, two-stroke. A 54.0mm bore x 54.5mm stroke result in a displacement of just 124.8 cubic centimeters. The engine featured a 8.8:1 compression ratio. Fuel was supplied via a overhead cams (ohc).

The bike has a 6-speed transmission. The final drive was via chain. Power was moderated via the multi plate, cable operation.

It came with a 90/90-21 front tire and a 120/80-18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a marzocchi 40mm usd while the rear was equiped with a sachs adjustable shock absorber with soft damp linkage. The WRE125 was fitted with a 2.51 Gallon (9.50 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 244.93 pounds (111.1 Kg). The wheelbase was 57.56 inches (1462 mm) long.
