The Moto Guzzi V10 Centauro Sport was a v2, four-stroke Naked motorcycle produced by Moto Guzzi between 1996 and 2001. It could reach a top speed of 135 mph (217 km/h). Max torque was 64.91 ft/lbs (88.0 Nm) @ 5800 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 92.93 HP (69.3 KW) @ 8200 RPM.

Engine[edit | edit source]

The engine was a air cooled v2, four-stroke. A 90.0mm bore x 78.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 992.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 5-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multi-disc, manual.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 120/70-zr17 front tire and a 160/60-zr17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a White Power inverted forks while the rear was equipped with a Chrome Moly braced swingarm with adjustable White Power monoshock. The V10 Centauro Sport was fitted with a 4.76 Gallon (18.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 493.84 pounds (224.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 58.07 inches (1475 mm) long.

Designed by Italian architect Luciano Marabese in honor of Moto Guzzi's 75th anniversary, the V 10 Centauro is well-equipped with Marchesini alloy wheels, dual 320mm floating front Brembo rotors and four-piston Brembo Gold Series calipers.

The V10's rectangular-section chrome-molybdenum steel spine frame is identical to that of the RS and 1100 Sport Injection, and the same is true of the cycle parts. Forks are 40mm upside-down units from WP of Holland, complete with adjustment for compression damping at the top of the right leg and rebound at the top of the left. WP also provides the rear shock, which is basically the same as the sportster models' unit but, like the forks, has been retuned slightly to suit the Centauro

The Centauro is a curious looking motorcycle, with its sweeping fuel tank, broad seat and bulbous tail unit. Launched to celebrate Guzzi's 75th anniversary in 1997, the V10 is a mix of expensive chassis components, bizarre styling and traditional Guzzi engineering. The chassis is composed of the best suspension and brake components from WP, Brembo and Bitubo, which all perform well while not disguising the Centauro's weight.
