The engine was a Air Cooled cooled Four Stroke, single Cylinder, OHV. The engine featured a 8.5:1 compression ratio.

DriveEdit

Power was moderated via the Wet, multiplate.

ChassisEdit

It came with a 90/90 -19 front tire and a 100/90 -19 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Single 280mm disc in the front and a Foot operated, 153 mm drum in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic, Hydraulic Damping, Stroke 130 mm wheel travel while the rear was equipped with a Swing Arm With Gas Shock Absorbers, Stroke 80 mm wheel travel. The Electra X was fitted with a 13.5 Liters / US 3.2 gal fuel tank. The wheelbase was 1370 mm / 53.9 in long.

Royal Enfield entered a new era with the Electra , literally. Not only was the new Lean-Burn AVL engine first introduced on this model, but the Electra was also Royal Enfield’s first foray into 70’s styling. The higher speeds, better handling, lower emissions and increased fuel economy of the AVL engine only added to the popularity of this retro model.
