The Yamaha DT125 was a 125cc, 2-stroke, dual-purpose motorcycle manufactured by Yamaha from 1974 through 1988 in the US. Some derivatives are still sold in other markets to this day.
The model designation DT indicates that it is a 2-stoke off-road styled motorcycle, it had a raised exhaust, handlebars with cross members, universal tires, and adequate ground clearance for an off-road enduro motorcycle or trail motorcycle. The USA received the last DT125H in 1981.

The DT125 had a raised rear and front fender, raised exhaust, handlebars with cross members, universal tires, and adequate ground clearance for an off-road-enduro motorcycle or trail motorcycle.

When first launched the DT125 had a single cylinder, air-cooled, 2-stroke engine, a cradle style tubular steel frame, conventional telescopic front forks and dual shock swingarm rear suspension, and drum brakes front and rear. Over the years the model received numerous updates and restyles, the dates and specifications of which vary between different markets. Notable changes include the appearance of a single shock absorber rear swingarm in 1977, which Yamaha referred to as Mono-cross, or MX for short, a feature that appeared on many of Yamaha's other small and medium sized motorcycles at a similar time. In 1983 the DT125 received a major restyle and gained a liquid cooled engine to become the DT125LC. In 1985 the electrics were upgraded to 12v, the front brake drum was changed to a disc, and rising rate rear suspension was fitted with the introduction of the DT125LC mk3. Another restyle for 1987 gave us the DT125R, the most noticeable specification change from it's predecessor being the swap to a rear disc brake.
The Suzuki RGV 250 SP was a Two stroke, V- twin, reed valve, liquid cooled Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Suzuki in 1997. Max torque was 30.24 ft/lbs (41.0 Nm) @ 8000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 61.02 HP (45.5 KW) @ 11000 RPM. It could reach a top speed of 202 km/h / 125 mph.

Clearly based on the Suzuki's 500cc Grand Prix motor, the super sporting RGV250, with a claimed 58 bhp pushed the quarter liter class into a new dimension. Its performance often equaled or surpassed 400cc and larger machines. The RGV 250 was not available for sale in the United States. Aprilia's RS250 used the Suzuki RGV250's engine even after it was discontinued.

Engine
A 55.9mm bore x 55.9mm stroke result in a displacement of just 249.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive
The bike has a 6-Speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet, multiplate.

Chassis
It came with a 110/70-17 front tire and a 140/60-18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Double discs 300 mm in the front and a Single disc 210 mm in the rear. The front suspension was a USD telescopic fork, 5-way adjustable with anti-dive, oil dampened while the rear was equipped with a Full Floater, mono-shock, gas/oil damped, 7-way adjustable. The wheelbase was 54.09 inches (1374 mm) long.

The RGV250 ran from 1987 to 1997, but they were only officially imported into the UK from 1989 (RGV250 K) to 1994 (RGV250 R). It was a crime against motorcycling when Suzuki decided not to bring the beautifully curvy 1996/97 RGVs to our shores (or the 1991 SP version), which included the fantastic limited edition SP model, complete with a dry clutch, ram air and 70 hp.
The Honda XR650R was a Baja proven desert race bike powerhouse built for seven years (2000-2007). It was successfully campaigned in Baja taking first place each of those years until it was retired for the CRF450X.

The bike is a little heavy compared to some of the other big bore bikes of the time - but it was known for it's unparalleled reliability and longevity. Even though it was retired in 2007 it is still a very popular bike which will be youthful for many years to come.
}}
The Yamaha YZ250 was a single cylinder, two-stroke motocross motorcycle produced by Yamaha between 1974 and 2019. It is one of the last two-stroke 250cc bikes still in production. Yamaha produces a four-stroke version made to compete with this version in the YZ400F/YZ426F/YZ450F. The similarly named Yamaha YZ250F is intended to compete with the Yamaha YZ125.

History
Yamaha created the very first single-shock, production motocross bike ever. This was the beginning of the Yamaha Monocross machines that changed motocross forever. The YZs of this time were near replicas of "Works Bikes" with their aluminum fuel tanks and light weight, lacking only magnesium engine cases and a few titanium pieces.

Engine
The engine was a liquid cooled single cylinder, two-stroke.

Drive
The bike has a 6-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the multiplate wet clutch.

Chassis
It came with a 90/90-21 front tire and a 110/100-18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc. hydraulic. in the front and a single disc. hydraulic. in the rear. The front suspension was a kyb® spring-type fork with speed sensitive damping; fully adjustable while the rear was equipped with a kyb® single shock; full adjustable. The YZ250FX was fitted with a 2.0 Gallon (7.57 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 212.08 pounds (96.2 Kg). The wheelbase was 57.72 inches (1466 mm) long.

There's no F after the 2002 YZ250 so we're dealing with 2-stroke might, this time. This model year received a lot of improvements, starting with a new, lighter and tougher swingarm and recalibrated suspensions, with more precise travel and providing even more control.

In the engine department, the 2002 Yamaha YZ250 comes with a new cylinder head and combustion chamber, a reshaped exhaust port, and a revised second gear for explosive power deployment. The factory-spec racing clutch lever is adjustable, and the rear master cylinder and discs are also revamped.

With around 40 years of YZ250 history, it was natural that the 2003 iteration carried on the acclaimed nerve and maneuverability, in a package with received multiple updates for even higher performance and more durability. The forks went up to 48mm and received a new coating for smoother action, and titanium pegs shaved off some more weight.

The 2003 YZ250 receives a new gripper-style seat cover, revised engine internals for a better mid-range power deployment, and an adjustable clutch lever for quick, on-the-fly fine tuning.
The Yamaha YZ250F was first released as a 2001 model revolutionizing motocross. With Yamaha's patented 5 Titanium valve design and innovative four-stroke technology made the YZ250F the dominant force for years to come. The bike featured a steel frame and an aluminum subframe. The 2006 model is redesigned with an aluminum frame. The YZ250F can thank its four-stroke success to the YZ400F. The YZ250F also catapulted Chad Reed's motocross career into overdrive winning a 125cc championship for the Yamaha of Troy race team. The similarly named Yamaha YZ250 is a two-stroke motorcross bike made to compete with the 450 four-strokes.
If it's got an F suffix, it's a 4-stroke, so we're looking at a smooth engine powering the 2005 YZ250F. However, this quarter-liter bike is nothing like a tame beast: it packs more power than meets the eye, and thanks to its 5-speed transmission, there's also torque on tap for fast starts on the dirt track and confident uphill strides on forest trails.

2006 brings a lot of engine revisions, and suspension also received massive tweaking for a more balanced performance and predictable steering. The rear caliper is new, and the bike got premium Excel rims, too, complemented by a new flat seat and repackable exhaust.
