The Moto Guzzi Cardellino was a Single cylinder, 2 stroke, air cooled Classic motorcycle produced by Moto Guzzi in 1954. Claimed horsepower was 2.01 HP (1.5 KW) @ 5000 RPM.
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 3-Speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-discs.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 2.25-20 front tire and a 2.25-20 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Drum in the front and a Drum in the rear. The front suspension was a Parallelogram fork in molded and boxed sheet metal with biconical compression central spring while the rear was equipped with a Swingarm in molded and boxed sheet metal, with two compression springs and two compass dampers on the sides of the swingarm. The wheelbase was 47.2 inches (1199 mm) long.
1954 - 1962 Moto Guzzi Cardellino[edit | edit source]
The engine is a 65cc single cylinder 2 stroke with a cast iron cylinder head, producing 2 HP at 5000 RPM. Dell ‘Orto MA 13 carburetor, shift is by a 3-speed hand change gearbox on the side of the fuel tank just like the 500cc bikes. Front brake with hand controls, rear brake with foot control. The Cardellino was updated with rear friction shocks and sturdier frame so one could carry a passenger. 10 lbs. heavier than the Guzzino.
