The BMW R 50-5 was a two cylinder boxer, four-stroke standard produced by BMW between 1970 and 1972. It could reach a top speed of 94 mph (151 km/h). Claimed horsepower was 31.38 HP (23.4 KW) @ 6400 RPM.
Engine[edit | edit source]
The engine was a air cooled two cylinder boxer, four-stroke. A 67.0mm bore x 70.6mm stroke result in a displacement of just 498.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a overhead valves (ohv).
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 4-speed transmission.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 3.25-19 front tire and a 4.00-18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via expanding brake in the front and a expanding brake in the rear. The R 50-5 was fitted with a 6.34 Gallon (24.00 Liters) fuel tank.
