OverviewEdit
KTM 300 EXC-E Enduro Six Days
Sometimes nothing can take the place of engine capacity. Whenever it comes to brutal thrust, then it's time for the 300 EXC. Your two-stroke machine is a real torque-wonder with unbelievable power that makes light of the bike's low weight. Now with even more power and a completely revamped chassis, the 300 EXC is the ideal partner for the next cross-country or hardcore enduro race. KTM 300 EXC Features and Benefits UNBEATABLE POWER-TO-WEIGHT RATIO ENGINE POWER AND WEIGHT The understandable technology of the two-stroke engine has indisputable advantages, including a high power/displacement ratio and low weight. In terms of power-to-weight ratio, the 300 EXC is practically unbeatable thanks to the latest facelift. Unrivalled performance and playful handling are the results. NOW WITH EVEN MORE PERFORMANCE NEW INTAKE SNORKEL, NEW AIRBOX, NEW CYLINDER Together with the redesigned airbox and flow-optimized intake flange between airbox and carburetor, the new cylinder with low valve timing ensures even better charging with fresh gas. This results in even freer revving and even more power in all rev ranges for the liquid-cooled, two-stroke machine. NOW EVEN MORE ERGONOMIC BODYWORK The 300 EXC's new bodywork with the very slim seat and spoiler lines, plus excellent contact points, perfects the bike's ergonomics, making handling even simpler and more precise. The longer rear fender protects the rider even more effectively from swirled up stones. ADJUSTABLE ENGINE CHARACTERISTICS ADJUSTABLE EXHAUST CONTROL AND ADJUSTABLE IGNITION CURVE The responsiveness of the high-torque two-stroke machine can be varied in three stages by replacing springs in the TVC exhaust controller. The rider of the 300 EXC can also choose between two different ignition curves by means of a plug or an optional switch. NOW WITH AN EVEN MORE SUPERIOR CHASSIS NEW FRAME The completely revamped frame made from high-quality chrome-molybdenum steel is characterised by even greater lateral stiffness. It is also even better at absorbing jolts introduced by the suspension system, whereby the playful handling and comfort of the 300 EXC have been further optimized. NEW SWINGARM, NEW PDS, NEW SETTING The 300 EXC's new, lighter, cast aluminum swingarm accommodates the shock absorber more centrally, in order to load the swing arms more evenly. The new, 7 mm (0.28 in) longer PDS shock absorber with adjustable rebound and high/low-speed compression damping, and a new setting is installed more flatly, so providing even more progression. TELESCOPIC FORK, NEW SETTING The 300 EXC is equipped with the latest WP upside-down fork with wider adjustment ranges and a new setting. The sensitive responsiveness and outstanding damping of the open-cartridge fork with 48 mm (1.89 in) outer tubes are a perfect complement for the 300 EXC's playful handling and precision. NEW WHEELS Practically unbeatable in terms of weight and stability, the new wheels have CNC-machined hubs, Excel rims, zinc/nickel-coated spokes and aluminum nipples. They reduce the unsprung and gyroscopic masses, hence bolstering the playful handling of the 300 EXC{| class="wikitable" |- !Make Model |KTM 300 EXC-E Enduro Six Days |- !Year |2011 - 12 |- !Engine Type |Two stroke, single cylinder, with reed intake and exhaust control |- !Displacement |293 cc / 17.9 cu in |- !Bore X Stroke |72 x 72 mm |- !Compression |12.8:1 |- !Cooling System |Liquid cooled |- !Induction |Keihin PWK36 S AG carburetor |- !Spark Plug |NGK BR7ES |- !Ignition |Contactless controlled fully electronic ignition with digital igni- tion adjustment, Kokusan |- !Starting |Electric and kick |- !Battery |YTX4L-BS, 12V 3Ah |- !Power |17 kW / 23 hp @ 6120 rpm |- !Clutch |Wet, multi-plate, hydraulically operated |- !Transmission |6 Speed |- !Primary Drive Ratio |26:72 |- !Gear Ratios |1st 14:32 / 2nd 16:26 / 3rd 20:25 / 4th 22:23 / 5th 25:22 / 6th 26:20 |- !Final Drive |Chain, Regina O-ring |- !Frame |Central double cradle, CrMo4 |- !Front Suspension |WP 48 mm upside down fork and shock |- !Front Wheel Travel |300 mm / 11.8 in |- !Rear Suspension |Fully adjustable WP-PDS mono-shock |- !Rear Wheel Travel |335 mm / 13.2 in |- !Front Brakes |Single260 mm disc, 2 piston caliper |- !Rear Brakes |Single 220 mm disc, 1 piston caliper |- !Front Tire |80/100 - 21, 51M TT |- !Rear Tire |110/8100 - 18 64M TT |- !Steering Head Angle |62.5o |- !Wheelbase |1476 mm / 58.1 in |- !Ground Clearance |386 mm / 15.2 in |- !Seat Height |945 mm / 37.2 in |- !Dry Weight |103 kg / 227 lbs |- !Gvwr |335 kg / 739 lbs |- !Fuel Capacity |9.5 L / 2.5 US gal / 2.1 Imp gal
