2009 Suzuki SFV650 Gladius[edit | edit source]
Even though you'd most likely have eyes frowning at you , you could say that the 2009 MY SFV650 Gladius is the Japanese version of the Ducati Monster. With a smaller engine than its Italian counterpart, the Gladius sports a new power unit with a v-twin 90-degree architecture and 645cc displacement. Transmission is manual, with 6 speeds and a chain final drive.
The SFV650 Gladius is a true roadster, with its steel trellis frame in plain sight and a highly-aerodynamic headlight. The profile of the bike is slender and the compliant suspension delivers the right amount of sportiveness and all-rounder versatility. That is, the 2009 MY Suzuki SFV650 Gladius can equally be your commuter of choice, weekend fun machine, and even travel bike. It's in fact more versatile than you are.
2010 Suzuki SFV650 Gladius[edit | edit source]
The biggest addition to the 2010 model year SFV650 Gladius is the addition of ABS brakes as standard equipment, introducing a new, higher level of street safety. As the Gladius is more of an urban warrior, situations when hard braking may be necessary are surely met more than often. And with dirt or water possibly making things even worse, the aid of the ABS is a most welcome addition.
On the tech side, the SFV650 Gladius does not bring significant upgrades over the debut bike, so you're dealing with pretty much the same beast as the previous model year.
2011 Suzuki SFV650 Gladius[edit | edit source]
The SFV650 Gladius remains unchanged for 2011, as the recipe seems to be a good one, and highly appreciated by riders in search of a bike with Ducati Monster looks but with the Japanese technology seal of approval. The engine is the one powering the other 650 v-twin bikes from Suzuki's roster so you kind of know what to expect from it: strong-pulling character, smooth shifting and good fuel efficiency.
The bike is great for commuting and city fun, but will also feel amazing when ridden hard around countryside bends and with accessory luggage systems, it can even be a wonderful touring companion.
2012 Suzuki SFV650 Gladius[edit | edit source]
The 2012 SFV650 Gladius is Suzuki's way of telling how cool things can become when technology meets fashion the right way. Often referred toa s the Japanese version of the Ducati Monster, the Gladius brags on its exposed trellis frame and skimpy bodywork, all emphasizing the agile character of this v-twin middleweight beast.
An awesome city slicer, the Gladius can also travel the extra mile and longer trips are not a problem, especially for those who like the wind in their face. Compact and sharp-turning, the SFV650 Gladius is exceedingly user-friendly and can put a big smile on the face of both newer and seasoned riders.
2013 Suzuki SFV650 Gladius[edit | edit source]
A compact bike ostentatiously showing off its trellis frame, the 2013MY SFV650 Gladius is a great choice for riders in search of a middleweight all-rounder with voluptuous shapes and a massive head-turning effect wherever it may show up. Flowing lines are a great complement for the smooth-pulling 645cc v-twin engine. If you enjoyed the V-Strom and the SV650, then you'll love the Gladius, too.
The SFV650 Gladius is a nifty combination of road worthiness, all-day practicality, fashion and value. If you are looking for a stylish bike you can ride each day to work, transform you into a weekend warrior at the track or fill your lungs with the fresh air in the mountains around countless bends, and you're also not willing to break the bank for all these... the SFV650 Gladius is the right choice.
