Engine

The engine was a Liquid cooled cooled Four stroke, longitudinal 800 V-twin cylinder, camshaft nestles at the base of the V between the cylinders. ,OHV, 4 valves per cylinder operated by pushrods.

Chassis

It came with a 3.25-19 front tire and a 3.75-16 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Single 275 mm discs 2 piston caliper in the front and a 160mm Drum in the rear. The front suspension was a 39mm Showa telehydraulic fork while the rear was equipped with a Dual chocks. The CX400 Custom was fitted with a 11 Liters fuel tank.
