The 1936 BSA B3 de Luxe has, at its heart, an air-cooled, four-stroke, 249cc, single cylinder engine mated to a four-speed manual transmission and could reach a claimed 2.5 horsepower at 3000 rpm. Also, on purchase, it offered a choice between a hand or a foot gear-shift, and also came with a comfortable, sprung seat, wide handlebars, wire-spoked wheels, an analogue instrument cluster, a blacked-out steel frame, a hard-tail rear suspension, a spring-loaded girder fork in the front and a large headlight.
