Overview[edit | edit source]
Moto Guzzi California Jackal
The California Jackal is a cruiser-styled machine based around the California engine and chassis. The traditional Moto Guzzi air-cooled transverse V-twin engine is fitted to a basic steel-tube frame with simple suspension and brakes bolted on. The performance from the elderly engine is rather lazy, although what power there is, is produced well down the rev range, allowing relaxed progress. The engine breathes through a basic fuel-injection system, but the power delivery can be rather flat at low revs. The Jackal is a fairly handsome machine, its kicked-out front forks holding a wire spoked 46cm (18in) front wheel and a single front brake disc. Deep, curvaceous mudguards and a dash of chrome plate round off the bodywork.
