==Engine==
The engine was a [[liquid cooled]] v2, four-stroke. A 76.0mm [[bore]] x 49.5mm [[stroke]] result in a [[displacement]] of just 452.0 cubic centimeters. The engine featured a 12.5:1 [[compression ratio]]. Fuel was supplied via a single overhead cams (sohc).  

==Drive==
The bike has a 5-speed [[transmission]]. The [[final drive]] was via chain. Power was moderated via the cable operated multi-plate wet clutch..  

==Chassis==
It came with a 90/90-18 front [[tire]] and a 140/80-21 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc. floating disc in stainless steel with aluminium flange in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a  48 mm upside down fork with two adjustments. while the rear was equipped with a aluminium swingarm with cast body and hydroformed members. [[hydraulic]] monoshock with compression and rebound adjustment.. The RXV 4.5 was fitted with a 2.06 Gallon (7.80 Liters) fuel tank. The wheelbase was 58.86 inches (1495 mm) long.

The Soft one offers a more tamed power delivery, making passing across really rough terrain easier and offering more confidence to intermediate riders. The Hard mapping is there for the most skilled of riders, and provides explosive power and full, blasting torque for insane runs along both dirt tracks or fire roads and forest trails.

The 2008 RXV 450 is an off-road motorcycle derived from the pro-class competition bikes, and sports many of the racing-inspired components and technologies to provide top-drawer performance. From details such as the electrical system to the Magura tapered handlebars and from the modern digital dash to to the racing foam air filter, the 2008 RXV 450 is a race-ready beast.

This model year also brings a revised swingarm, a new, lighter rear caliper. a simpler and lighter rear sub-frame, a lower seat and better control over the throttle body.
