The BMW G 450 X was a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, single cylinder, DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder Enduro motorcycle produced by BMW between 2008 and 2011. It could reach a top speed of 90 mph (145 km/h). Max torque was 31.72 ft/lbs (43.0 Nm) @ 6500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 41.04 HP (30.6 KW) @ 7000 RPM.

Engine[edit | edit source]

The engine was a liquid cooled liquid-cooled, four-stroke, single cylinder, DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder. A 99.1mm bore x 99.1mm stroke result in a displacement of just 449.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 5-speed, manual transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multi-disc, manual.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 90/90-21 front tire and a 140/80-18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single 260 mm disc, 2-piston floating caliper in the front and a single 220 mm disc, 1-piston floating caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 45 mm upside-down forks while the rear was equipped with a direct-mounted Ohlins shock. The G 450 X was fitted with a 2.11 Gallon (8.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 244.71 pounds (111.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 58.11 inches (1476 mm) long.

The 2008 MY BMW G 450 X is a new addition to the enduro family from the House of Munich. It has been designed especially for enduro racing, from the ground up, and is one of the most unique models from the German producer. At its heart lies a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 449cc, single cylinder lump, mated to a five-speed manual transmission, which produces 41 horsepower and 43 Nm of torque. Superior off-road abilities are ensured by the 45 mm upside-down forks, as well as the high-end, direct-mounted Ohlins Shock. A dry weight of only 111 kg mean it will eat the dirt, no matter how treacherous the track is.
