The engine was a [[liquid cooled]] in-line four, four-stroke. A 80.0mm [[bore]] x 64.3mm [[stroke]] result in a [[displacement]] of just 1293.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin [[cam]] (dohc).

The bike has a 6-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the multiple-disc clutch in oil bath, hydraulically operated.  

==Chassis==
It came with a 120/70-zr17 front [[tire]] and a 180/55-zr17 rear tire. The acclaimed Duolever front and Paralever rear suspension package has been tweaked on this new model to make for an even more agile machine. Also, optionals such as the HP Gearshift Assistant and lots of carbon parts are also new, as opposed to the previous model, and have been especially designed for the K 1300 R.
