The BMW R1200ST was a two cylinder boxer, two-stroke Sport touring motorcycle produced by BMW between 2005 and 2008. It could reach a top speed of 145 mph (233 km/h). Max torque was 84.82 ft/lbs (115.0 Nm) @ 6000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 106.34 HP (79.3 KW) @ 7500 RPM.

EngineEdit

The engine was a oil & air cooled two cylinder boxer, two-stroke. A 101.0mm bore x 73.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1170.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a single overhead cams (sohc).

DriveEdit

The bike has a 6-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the single dry plate clutch, hydraulically operated.

ChassisEdit

It came with a 120/70-17 front tire and a 180/55-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc. abs in the front and a single disc. abs in the rear. The front suspension was a bmw motorrad telelever while the rear was equipped with a cast aluminum single-sided swing arm with bmw motorrad paralever. The R1200ST was fitted with a 4.23 Gallon (16.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 401.24 pounds (182.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 58.86 inches (1495 mm) long.

2007 BMW R 1200 STEdit

       

The 2007 MY BMW R1200ST greets us with a well-balanced combination of sport attitude and performance, in a well-equipped machine, capable of cross-country long hauls. At its heart lies a powerful, air-cooled, four-stroke, 1170cc, boxer twin cylinder power house mated to a six-speed manual transmission. This twin cylinder can produce 110 horsepower and 115 Nm of torque, more than enough to satisfy the adrenaline junkies among Beemer fans.

Technology-wise, it comes standard with the Telelever/Paralever front/rear suspension system, a Diagnostic Interface, an Info Flat Screen, an Electronic Immobilizer and a side stand with Starter Inhibition. Also, it can accommodate riders with various inseams and arm lengths, thanks to the adjustable rider seat, the adjustable handlebars and the adjustable handbrake and clutch levers.


2008 BMW R 1200 STEdit

   

The 2008 MY BMW R 1200 ST sports an air-cooled, four-stroke, 1170cc, boxer twin cylinder powerhouse mated to six-speed manual transmission, and can produce 110 horsepower and 115 Nm of torque. It features the acclaimed Telelever front and Paralever rear suspension package, as well as a state-of-the-art Evo braking system, which make for a plush, agile and safe ride, no matter the road. Also, the individually adjustable two-up seat, as well as the optional saddlebags, plus the windscreen and aerodynamic fairing make for a great mid-sized tourer.
