1929 BMW R 62Edit

The 1928 BMW R 62 is considered by many to be the first touring motorcycle designed by the House of Munich. It had, at its heart, an air-cooled, four-stroke, 745cc, single vertical cylinder engine mated to a three-speed manual transmission, and could reach a maximum power output of 18 horsepower at 3400 rpm.

Standard fittings included a sprung seat, a rear luggage rack, a large headlight, a plate spring front fork, a hard-tail rear suspension, a drum brake in the front, an external shoe brake at the gearing on cardan shaft in the rear, laced wheels, a 12-liter (3.2-gallon) fuel tank and a blacked-out frame.
