The BMW R850 Avantgarde C was a two cylinder boxer, four-stroke Cruiser motorcycle produced by BMW between 1997 and 2002. It could reach a top speed of 96 mph (155 km/h). Max torque was 52.37 ft/lbs (71.0 Nm) @ 4750 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 48.95 HP (36.5 KW) @ 5250 RPM.

The engine was a air cooled two cylinder boxer, four-stroke. A 70.0mm bore x 87.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 848.0 cubic centimeters.

The bike has a 5-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the dry, single plate, hydraulic.

It came with a 100/90-zr18 front tire and a 170/80-zr15 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a BMW Motorrad Telelever while the rear was equipped with a BMW Motorrad Monolever. The R850 Avantgarde C was fitted with a 4.49 Gallon (17.00 Liters) fuel tank.
