If you are a rider who wants a minimalist, naked bike, but also capable of prolonged journeys, than the 2011 MY BMW R 1200 R Touring Special may be the one for you. At its heart lies the unmistakable, air-cooled, four-stroke, 1170cc, boxer twin cylinder powerplant mated to a six-speed manual transmission, which produces 109 horsepower and 115 Nm of torque.

As opposed to the base R 1200 R, this model comes standard with a new, two-up, comfort seat, an on-board computer, heated grips, a main stand, a chromed exhaust system, as well as a small, sporty windshield and common locking panniers, which increase its touring capabilities, without affecting the gritty performance one usually expects from a naked Beemer.
