The BMW R 2 Series 1 was a single cylinder, four-stroke standard produced by BMW in 1931. It could reach a top speed of 59 mph (95 km/h). Claimed horsepower was 5.9 HP (4.4 KW) @ 3500 RPM.
Engine[edit | edit source]
The engine was a air cooled single cylinder, four-stroke. A 63.0mm bore x 64.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 198.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a overhead valves (ohv).
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 3-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the single-plate, dry.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 3.00-25 front tire and a 3.00-25 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via expanding brake (drum brake) in the front and a expanding brake (drum brake) in the rear. The front suspension was a cantilever spring, 9 laminae while the rear was equipped with a rigit. The R 2 Series 1 was fitted with a 2.91 Gallon (11.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 268.96 pounds (122.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 51.97 inches (1320 mm) long.
