The BMW R 80 Mono was a air-cooled, four-stroke, boxer twin cylinder, 2 valves per cylidner Naked motorcycle produced by BMW in 1985. Max torque was 42.78 ft/lbs (58.0 Nm) @ 4000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 50.02 HP (37.3 KW) @ 6500 RPM.

Engine

A 83.8mm bore x 83.8mm stroke result in a displacement of just 797.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive

The bike has a 5-speed, manual transmission. Power was moderated via the dry, single plate, diaphragm spring.

Chassis

It came with a 90/90x17 front tire and a 120/90x18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single 285mm disc, 1-piston caliper in the front and a 200mm drum in the rear. The front suspension was a telescopic fork while the rear was equipped with a Monolever. The wheelbase was 57.01 inches (1448 mm) long.

The 1985 MY BMW R 80 Mono has, at its heart, an air-cooled, four-stroke, 797cc, boxer twin cylinder powerplant paired to a five-speed manual transmission, and can reach a maximum power output of 50 horsepower and 58 Nm of torque.

In addition, it is one of the first machines from the House of Munich to be equipped with the Monolever rear suspension system, which improves comfort and overall performance significantly. Other features include a telescopic front fork, laced wheels, a single front disc brake coupled to a rear drum, a dual seat, pillion grab rails, die-cast aluminum wheels, an analogue instrument cluster and a steel, black frame.
