1965

As described in a BSA advertisement from 1965: “Powerful, fast 500 c.c. Dual-carburetor twin for the road” The Cyclone Road model has “extremely zestful performance in a super-sports 500 c.c. Road twin. Incorporates many of the same fine features as the Lightning Model. 500 c.c. Unit-construction twin basically similar to the Lightning engine. Has twin-carburetors, high compression pistons. Super camshaft and hemispherical-type combustion chambers for maximum H.P. output. Free-flow exhaust with high efficiency mufflers. Powerful, high RPM Battery twin-coil ignition for easy starts. Equipment includes sport headlight, engine under-shield, racing tank and powerful GoldStar racing brakes with quick detachable rear wheel, and a 125 M.P.H. speedometer. Tachometer drive built in.” New for ‘65 Road Model has high RPM twin-coil, twin-point ignition, new side panels with both carburetors in full view, new taillight and license plate bracket. New improved gear-change mechanism. New oil seals for better cleanliness. New faster-acceleration gearing. New improved oiling system. “The Cyclone models were finished in Mandarin Red and chrome, black frames. All BSA motorcycles are superbly finished in porcelain-like baked enamel accented with large areas of triple-chrome plate and highly polished alloy. You’ll be proud of the truly outstanding appearance of your BSA!”
