The engine was a Liquid cooled cooled Four stroke, 90°“L”twin cylinder, SOHC, desmodromic 4 valve per cylinder. The engine featured a 12.5:1 [[compression ratio]].

==Chassis==
It came with a 120/70 ZR17 front [[tire]] and a 190/55 ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 2x 320mm / 12.6 in. discs 4 piston caliper in the front and a Single 230mm / 9.1 in.disc 2 piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a  43mm Marzocchi UD fork DLC fully adjustable, 120mm wheel travel. while the rear was equipped with a Extreme Tech Monoshock TTX fully adjustable low/high speed, 120mm wheel travel.. The DB7 Oronero was fitted with a 16 Liters / 4.2 US gal. fuel tank. The bike weighed just 172 kg / 379.2 lbs.

Bimota DB7 Oro Nero is based around the same basic design as
the standard Bimota DB7, but is eight kilograms lighter thank to the front
section of the frame, the central section of the swingarm and all of the
bodywork being made from carbon fibre. Claimed dry weight is 164kg, compared to
172kg for the standard model
The Bimota DB7 Oro Nero uses the same 1099cc v-twin sourced
from Ducati’s 1098, but a more free-flowing exhaust gives an extra 2bhp compared
to the DB7, taking power to a claimed 164bhp, giving one horsepower per kilo
