The engine was a liquid cooled v2, four-stroke. A 98.0mm bore x 66.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 996.1 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a desmodromic valve control.

The bike has a 6-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the multiplate in oil bath.

It came with a 120/70-zr17 front tire and a 180/55-zr17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc. bremo in the front and a single disc. bremo in the rear. The front suspension was a 46mm Paioli upside-down fork while the rear was equipped with a Ohlins fully-adjustable mono-shock. The SB8K SantaMonica was fitted with a 5.55 Gallon (21.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 385.81 pounds (175.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 54.72 inches (1390 mm) long.
