The Buell XB12SX Lightning was a V-Twin, four-stroke Naked motorcycle produced by Buell between 2004 and 2010. Max torque was 76.71 ft/lbs (104.0 Nm) @ 5500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 90.52 HP (67.5 KW) @ 7000 RPM. It draws a logical comparison with the Cagiva Raptor 1000 and Ducati Monster. All three involve massive fuel-injected v-twin motors with minimalistic styling.

The engine was a oil & air cooled v2, four-stroke. A 88.9mm bore x 96.8mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1202.9 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a overhead valves (ohv).

The bike has a 5-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet, multi-plate, compensated.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 120/70-zr17 front tire and a 180/55-zr17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc. ztl2-type brake, 8-piston, 4 pads, fixed caliper, 375 mm single-sided, inside out, stainless steel, floating rotor in the front and a single disc. two-piston, direct mount caliper; stainless steel, fixed rotor in the rear. The front suspension was a 41 mm showa inverted forks with adjustable compression damping, rebound damping and spring preload while the rear was equipped with a showa coil-over monoshock with remote, under-seat reservoir and adjustable compression damping, rebound damping and spring preload. The XB12SX Lightning City X was fitted with a 3.82 Gallon (14.45 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 394.63 pounds (179.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 51.97 inches (1320 mm) long.
