It came with a 90/90 -16 front [[tire]] and a 100/90 -18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 2x 220mm discs in the front and a Single 220mm disc in the rear. The front suspension was a  Telescopic Marzocchi 35mm non-adjustable forks while the rear was equipped with a Alloy single Marzocchi shock soft damp. The Aletta Oro S1125 was fitted with a 18 Liters / 4.7 US gal fuel tank. The bike weighed just 124 kg / 271 lbs. The wheelbase was 1380 mm / 54.3 in long.

Presented at the Bologna Motor Show in December
1984 and sold shortly after the Cagiva 125 GP S1 incorporates a historic
designation: Aletta was a famous 125 built in the sixties by then Cagiva
Harley-Davidson and Gold Wing was the fastest single-cylinder Varese intended
for private pilots. The Golden Fin thus provides a motorcycle style and advanced
features that clearly show the will superstructure 'of the house from Varese to
propose measures to be 125 with a medium capacity. Where the various AS-R NS-F
and RV have difficulties 'to hide their appearance from motion-read, the S1 has
little presence and size, indicative of the effective displacement and, in fact,
more' than anything else found one eye carefully written and 125! Unfortunate
that despite the big line, although the valid cycle, reveals the true
displacement vane Gold for driving experience more 'mature and average engine,
we must' wait Gilera KZ 1986. Technically, the S1 is also equipped with less
competition, can not boast either the exhaust valve or an electric starter.
The S1 and S2 were not his descendant of the great commercial success, although
for those Cagiva piu'avanti would arrive shortly with the next arrow and Myth.
Price in 1985: 3,979,100 Lira
Colors: Red / Grey Metallic.

The bike soon
The generous sizing of all components, fully stretched out toward the front
lines, the rounded and excellent proportions, give the S1 a remarkable sense of
unity and momentum of solidita'tipica cilidrata greater. The housing and the
overall level of finishes are consistent with the high price.

The sides, pressure mounted, concealed in the battery right and left air filter.
On the right side of the hull is a door giving access to the cap for the
radiator and water pump, rear brake, curiously located in posiozione elevated on
the right side. The seat protected by a removable lock located on the tail,
hiding the front tank for mixing oil and a cosmetic bag for tools, while in the
back just below the tail, is a handy compartment space-objects.

The instrumentation Sleep Borletti, although it looks very orderly, and
'complete and easily readable even at night. The equipment is' very complete and
in addition to contakm (also graduated in mph), tachometer, termomentro water
and a large battery of lights, also boasts the first fruits of a digital gear
indicator light and a fuel level. The electric controls are the classic and well
made CEV period and commonly used in other bikes.
Ciclisitca

The frame follows technical trends typical of the mid '80s and therefore, here
is the structure of double-cradle tubular steel panels abbianata a classic steel
swingarm. The front there is a telescopic hydraulic fork with 35mm Marzocchi
antidive device adjustable to three positions, while rear there is always a
shock absorber adjustable in spring preload and Marzocchi called by Cagiva "Soft
Damp". The braking system and 'a very valuable Brembo Gold Series, with the
front of a pair of 220mm floating discs served by fixed-piston caliper and the
rear a 220mm floating disc ever and ever served by dual-piston fixed caliper .
The alloy wheels have smaller three-spoke 'contained and betray the true
displacement of S1: 90/100x16 to' front and 100/90x18 rear.

Engine

Derivation of motocross, the engine of Cagiva Aletta Oro, although powerful,
does not give much technical solutions of the moment. Provided admission
laminated into the cylinder, with up to 10 lights, automatic mixer and cooled
forced circulation, the engine of the S1 'rather devoid of anti-vibration
countershaft, electric goodwill (even demand) and, more' serious exhaust valve.
As known, the exhaust valve not only serves a marketing function, but rather
'has the important task of changing the timing of the discharge depending on the
number of laps, and then allowing the adoption of suitable distribution diagrams
to seek maximum performance at high speeds without compromising the shot low and
medium rpm. From this point of view, the S1 sins clearly, since the adoption of
a cylinder particularly encouraged to stay competitive with the competition has
negatively affected the delivery at low and medium rpm, where holes are evident
annoying delivery. 7000giri exceeded, the engine runs very well and pulls strong
until almost 9000giri, but the rev range and is diminished to the detriment of
the quality 'of driving.

With regard to performance, S1, despite the problems mentioned above, does not
behave quite badly and with a maximum power to the wheel to 21.01cv 8750giri is
the most 'powerful of its direct competitors AS-R NS-F and RV, and second only
to the AS-R in terms of speed 'principle with 139.700 km / h (140.300 mph for
the AS-R). On the other hand, evidence of recovery in the 400 meters to 50km / h
show very well the lack of tractability 'of the engine, the S1 recorded the
worst result of the class a time of 23.035 sec and a velocity' output of only
76.590 km / h (19.157 seconds and 104.046 km / h, the leader AS-R)
