The Can-Am/ Brp DS 450 X XC was a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC 4-valve head with high-flow “Durchzugskraft” design, 38mm intake valve, 31 mm Nimonic – alloy ATV produced by Can-Am/ Brp between 2009 and 2011.
Engine
A 96.5mm bore x 96.5mm stroke result in a displacement of just 449.3 cubic centimeters.
Drive
The bike has a 5-speed manual transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet, multiplate.
Chassis
It came with a 21 x 7R-10 front tire and a 20 x 10R-9 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Dual 182 mm discs with inverted twin-piston calipers in the front and a 198 mm rotor with single piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a R-Type forged aluminum Double A-arm KYB8 HPG piggyback shocks with compression, rebound and preload adjustments while the rear was equipped with a R-Type cast aluminum swingarm Chromoly hollow rear axle KYB8 HPG piggyback shock with compression, rebound and preload adjustments. The DS 450 X XC was fitted with a 0.79 Gallon (3.00 Liters) fuel tank. The wheelbase was 50.0 inches (1270 mm) long.

Engineered to respond well in extreme situations and deliver better performance in hard riding conditions, the 2008 Can-Am DS 450 X XC sports nifty upgrades from the base model. KYB HPG C36 and C40 piggyback reservoir shocks offer adjustability and top-level damping on the harshest surfaces, with a width-adjustable hollow rear axle for less unsprung weight and provide with multiple setup possibilities.
The cast aluminum wheels sport the TrackLock beadlock systemm and are shod with top-notch ITP Holeshot 6-ply tires for a great grip on various types of terrain, while sturdy aluminum skid plates shield both the underbelly and swingarms. Add in handlebar deflectors, anti-vibe mounts for the steering stem and upgraded graphics: the 2008 Can-Am DS 450 X XC has everything the other models in the series have, but with so much more.

2011 Can-Am/ Brp DS 450 X XC
Engineered for fast wood trail-racing, the 2010 Can-Am DS 450 X XC is another upgraded version of the original DS 450. Created for riding aggressive riding on rough terrain with obstacles and varying ground types, this quad comes with an advanced no-weld aluminum frame, hollow rear axle and inverted brake calipers, keeping weight to a minimum and thus offer better performance.
The 2010 Can-Am DS 450 X XC is a racing machine: its 449cc engine is coupled to a sport-specced 5-speed manual gearbox with a heavy-duty clutch, designed to offer the best power delivery in all circumstances. The frame sits on adjustable KYB HPG C46 and C40 piggyback shocks and polished aluminum wheels with Wilwood brake discs, all ready for hard riding on the unwelcoming forest roads. Additional features, such as the aluminum bumper with number plate and the aluminum race-type handlebars make this quad look good, too.
