It came with a Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 27 x 9 x 12 in front tire and a Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 27 x 11 x 12 in rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 214 mm ventilated disc brakes with hydraulic twin-piston calipers in the front and a dual 214 mm ventilated disc brakes with hydraulic single-piston calipers in the rear. The front suspension was a double A-arm, FOX 2.0 PODIUM C Piggyback with compression and preload adjustments while the rear was equipped with a Torsional Trailing A-arms independent rear suspension (TTA) with sway bar, FOX 2.0 PODIUM C Piggyback with compression and preload adjustments. The Maverick 1000R X xc was fitted with a 2.64 Gallon (10.00 Liters) fuel tank. The wheelbase was 84.29 inches (2141 mm) long.

The 2015 MY Can-Am Maverick Maverick 1000R X xc sports a 101 horsepower, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 976cc, Rotax V-twin powerhouse paired to a continuously variable transmission (CVT), wish selectable 2WD / 4WD and a Visco-Lok QE auto-locking front differential. In addition, it has an Intelligent Throttle Control Technology, which offers a selection between a Progressive and a Sport riding mode.

The xc-suffixed model comes with 12" bedlock wheels, 27" Maxxis Bighorn tires, a tri-mode Dynamic Power Steering, and a narrower width, of only 60". Also, it has a multipurpose rear rack with a LinQ quick-attach system which increases its versatility, and its utility if one decides to use it on the job site.
