It came with a Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 28 x 9 x 14 in front tire and a Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 28 x 11 x 14 in rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 214 mm ventilated disc brakes with hydraulic twin-piston calipers in the front and a dual 214 mm ventilated disc brakes with hydraulic single-piston calipers in the rear. The front suspension was a double A-arm, FOX 2.5 PODIUM RC2 Piggyback with dual speed compression, rebound and dual rate spring preload adjustments while the rear was equipped with a Torsional Trailing A-arms independent rear suspension (TTA) with sway bar, FOX 2.5 PODIUM RC2 Piggyback with dual speed compression, rebound, dual rate spring preload adjustments and spring crossover, bottom-out control. The Maverick MAX 1000R X ds was fitted with a 2.64 Gallon (10.00 Liters) fuel tank. The wheelbase was 117.52 inches (2985 mm) long.

The 2015 MY Can-Am Maverick MAX 1000R X ds comes standard with 12" beadlock wheels with bulky, 28" Maxxis Bighorn tires mounted on them, Exclusive Fox 2.5 Podium RC2 HPG piggyback shocks with Bottom-out Control, a redesigned Torsional Trailing A-arm (TTA) rear suspension unit and a tri-mode Dynamic Power Steering (DPS) technology, which make it one of the most versatile and powerful four-seat SxS machines available on the market up to date.

At its heart lies a powerful, 101 horsepower, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 976cc, Rotax V-twin powerhouse mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT), which features a selectable 2WD / 4WD drive train with a Visco-Lok QE auto-locking front differential.
