It came with a Gorilla Axle Silverback 30 x 9 x 14 in front tire and a Gorilla Axle Silverback 30 x 9 x 14 in rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 214 mm discs, 2-piston calipers, hydraulic in the front and a single 214 mm discs, 2-piston calipers, hydraulic in the rear. The front suspension was a double A-arm while the rear was equipped with a torsional trailing arm independent (TTI). The wheelbase was 50.98 inches (1295 mm) long.

The 2015 MY Can-Am Outlander 850 X mr has been designed for riders who want a machine capable of overcoming even the thickest mud and shallow waters. It comes standard with a relocated radiator, 30" Borilla Axle Silverback tires mounded in 14" wheels, a WARN winch, a heavy-duty front bumper, as well as front and rear Fox HPG shocks. In addition, the large, 5.4 gallon fuel tank gives it an increased range.

At its heart lies a powerful, 78 horsepower, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 854cc, Rotax V-twin powerhouse mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Technology-wise, it boasts the best from Can-Am, such as a tri-mode Dynamic Power Steering, a Visco-Lok QE auto locking front differential, a Surrounding Spar Technology (SST) G2 frame, as well as a high-end performance system, composed of a double A-arm front unit and a Torsional Trailing arm Independent (TTI) rear unit.
