The Can-Am MX6400 was a single cylinder, two-stroke standard produced by Can-Am in 1980. Claimed horsepower was 42.11 HP (31.4 KW) @ 6500 RPM.

The engine was a air cooled single cylinder, two-stroke. A 84.0mm bore x 72.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 406.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a membrane.

The bike has a 5-speed transmission.

The front suspension was a marzocchi air fork while the rear was equipped with a s and w or ohlins twin shocks.
