==Engine==
The engine was a [[liquid cooled]] liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 90-degree V-Twin, DOHC, desmodromic 4 valves per cylinder. A 106.7mm [[bore]] x 106.7mm [[stroke]] result in a [[displacement]] of just 1198.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a desmodromic [[valve]] control.

The 2010 MY Ducati 1198 has standard fittings such as a TiO-coated, 43mm Showa fully-adjustable upside-down fork, a rear Showa fully-adjustable monoshock with progressive linkage, Brembo brakes, a full-fairing with a small windscreen, a digital instrumentation panel, dual headlights, blacked-out, lightweight wheels, a single seat, an under-seat mounted dual exhaust system and offers a choice between a white or led livery with blacked-out finishes.

In the engine department it sports a four-stroke, liquid-cooled, 1198cc, 90-degree V-Twin desmodromic powerhouse, mated to a six-speed manual transmission with a chain final drive, that can produce a claimed 170 horsepower and 132 Nm of torque.
