The Ducati 500 GP was a V-twin, 4-stroke, air cooled Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Ducati in 1972. Claimed horsepower was 72.01 HP (53.7 KW) @ 11000 RPM.
Engine
A 73.7mm bore x 73.7mm stroke result in a displacement of just 498.0 cubic centimeters.
Drive
The bike has a Gears transmission. Power was moderated via the Dry multiple disks.
Chassis
It came with a 3.25-18" front tire and a 3.50-18" rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Single disc 280 mm in the front and a Single disc 280 mm in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic hydraulic fork while the rear was equipped with a Swingarm, two shock absorbers Ceriani. The wheelbase was 56.3 inches (1430 mm) long.
1972 Ducati 500 GP
Since 1958 Ducati had taken no part in the world speed trials. For this reason the appearance of the 500 GP in 1971 drove the manufacturer's fans wild. Finally their favorite brand had returned to its natural environment.
