The Ducati 749 was a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 90-degree V-Twin, DOHC, desmodromic 4 valves per cylinder Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Ducati between 2003 and 2006. Max torque was 59.75 ft/lbs (81.0 Nm) @ 8500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 107.01 HP (79.8 KW) @ 9500 RPM.

Engine

The engine was a liquid cooled liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 90-degree V-Twin, DOHC, desmodromic 4 valves per cylinder. A 88.9mm bore x 88.9mm stroke result in a displacement of just 748.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a desmodromic valve control.

Drive

The bike has a gear transmission. Power was moderated via the dry, multi-plate, hydraulic control.

Chassis

It came with a 120/70 ZR17 front tire and a 180/55 ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 320mm discs, 4-piston calipers in the front and a single 245mm disc, 2-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 43mm fully-adjustable Showa upside-down fork while the rear was equipped with a Showa adjustable monoshock with progressive linkage. The 749 was fitted with a 1.06 Gallon (4.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 414.47 pounds (188.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 55.91 inches (1420 mm) long.
