The Ducati 749S was a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 90-degree V-Twin, DOHC, desmodromic 4 valves per cylinder Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Ducati between 2003 and 2006. Max torque was 62.7 ft/lbs (85.0 Nm) @ 8500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 116.0 HP (86.5 KW) @ 10500 RPM.
Engine[edit | edit source]
A 88.9mm bore x 88.9mm stroke result in a displacement of just 748.0 cubic centimeters.
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a gear transmission. Power was moderated via the dry, multi-plate, hydraulic control.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70 ZR17 front tire and a 180/55 ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 320mm discs, 4-piston calipers in the front and a single 245mm disc, 2-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 43mm fully-adjustable Showa upside-down fork while the rear was equipped with a Showa monoshock with progressive linkage. The 749S was fitted with a 1.06 Gallon (4.00 Liters) fuel tank. The wheelbase was 55.91 inches (1420 mm) long.
2003 Ducati 749S[edit | edit source]
The 2003 MY Ducati 749S has, at its heart, a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 749cc, 90-degree V-Twin desmodromic powerhouse paired to a six-speed manual transmission, and can reach a maximum power output of 116 horsepower and 85 Nm of torque.
Also, this machine comes with fittings such as a fully-adjustable, 43mm Sachs upside-down telescopic front fork coupled to an adjustable Sachs mono-shock as a rear suspension, Brembo brake calipers mounted on dual front disc brakes and a single disc in the rear, a full-fairing, a single seat, an under-seat exhaust system, cast-aluminum wheels, a small windscreen and a digital and analogue instrumentation panel.
