The Ducati 851SP was a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 90-degree V-Twin, DOHC, desmodromic 4 valves per cylinder Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Ducati in 1990. Claimed horsepower was 122.03 HP (91.0 KW) @ 10000 RPM.
Engine[edit | edit source]
A 91.4mm bore x 91.4mm stroke result in a displacement of just 851.0 cubic centimeters.
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 6-speed, manual transmission.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70 ZR17 front tire and a 180/55 ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 320mm discs, 4-piston calipers in the front and a single 245mm disc, 2-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 42mm Marzocchi upside-down telescopic fork while the rear was equipped with a Ohlins adjustable monoshock.
1990 Ducati 851SP[edit | edit source]
The 1989 Ducati 851 SP has, at its heart, a fuel-injected, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 90-degree V-Twin cylinder powerhouse paired to a six-speed manual transmission, that can reach a maximum power output of 122 horsepower at 10000 rpm.
Also, this machine has been fitted with race-grade features such as the Ohlins adjustable monoshock rear suspension, a 42mm Marzocchi adjustable upside-down fork as a front suspension, and Brembo brakes with dual discs in the front. Other features include a full-fairing with a windshield, three-spoked, cast-aluminum wheels, an analogue instrument cluster and a single seat.
