The Ducati 98 was a Single cylinder, 4-stroke, OHV, pushrod Enduro motorcycle produced by Ducati in 1952. Claimed horsepower was 4.96 HP (3.7 KW) @ 6800 RPM.
Engine
A 48.3mm bore x 48.3mm stroke result in a displacement of just 98.0 cubic centimeters.
Drive
The bike has a 3-Speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet Multi-plate.
Chassis
It came with a 2.75-17 front tire and a 2.75-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Drum in the front and a Drum in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic fork while the rear was equipped with a Non-adjustable twin hydraulic shocks, swingarm. The wheelbase was 48.82 inches (1240 mm) long.
1952 - 1955 Ducati 98
Ducati 98 and 98N are decendants of the Ducati 65 and were designed by Fiorio. The overhead valve engine had a forward facing exhaust end rear facing carburetor. It had a beautiful openspine pressed steel frame. In 1957 the 98N received as four-speed gearbox and the production ended in 1958 when the 98T was introduced.
