The engine was a Air cooled cooled Four stroke, single cylinder, OHV, pushrod. The engine featured a 8:1 compression ratio.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 2.75 - 17 CEAT or Pirelli front tire and a 2.75 - 17 CEAT or Pirelli rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Drum in the front and a Drum in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic fork. while the rear was equipped with a Non-adjustable twin hydraulic shocks, swingarm. The 98 / 98N was fitted with a 10 L / 2.6 US gal / 2.2 Imp gal fuel tank. The bike weighed just 98: 72 kg / 159 lbs 98N: 81 kg / 179 lbs. The wheelbase was 1240 mm / 48.8 in long.

The 98 and 98N are decendants of the 65 and were designed by Fiorio. The overhead valve engine had a forward facing exhaust end rear facing carburetor.  It had a beautiful openspine pressed steel frame. In 1957 the 98N received  as four-speed gearbox. Production ceased in 1958 when the 98T was introduced.
