The Ducati 999S was a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 90-degree V-Twin, DOHC, desmodromic 4 valves per cylinder Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Ducati between 2004 and 2007. Max torque was 83.35 ft/lbs (113.0 Nm) @ 8000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 142.95 HP (106.6 KW) @ 9750 RPM.

Engine

A 99.1mm bore x 99.1mm stroke result in a displacement of just 999.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive

The bike has a straight cut gears transmission. Power was moderated via the dry, multiplate, hydraulic.

Chassis

It came with a 120/70 ZR17 front tire and a 190/50 ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 320mm discs, 4-piston calipers in the front and a single 245mm disc, 2-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a Ohlins fully-adjustable upside-down fork, TiN-coated while the rear was equipped with a Ohlins fully-adjustable monoshock with progressive linkage. The wheelbase was 55.91 inches (1420 mm) long.

2004 Ducati 999S

The "S"-suffixed version of the 999 Ducati stands for "Sport", and offers superior maneuverability and safety features, as opposed to the base model, thanks to the Ohlins suspension package and improved Brembo brakes it has been equipped with. Also, its engine has been remapped, and offers 4 less horsepower and four more Nm of torque then the base model, but its power output has been made more manageable, for an overall improved rider experience.

The visual department has remained the same, offering the same color choices, the only noticeable difference being the S at the end of the 999 on the side fairings and the white tail section.

The 2005 MY Ducati 999S, unlike its sibling, has been equipped with race-grade suspensions and brakes, making it one of the most maneuverable and safe liter-class sportbikes available on the market. It has, at its heart, a four-stroke, liquid-cooled, 999cc, 90-degree V-Twin powerhouse that was paired to a six-speed manual transmission with a chain final drive, and can reach a maximum power output of 136 horsepower and 106 Nm of torque.

Also, it comes with an Ohlins suspension package, composed of a TiN-coated, fully-adjustable upside-down fork and an adjustable monoshock with a progressive linkage in the rear, a digital instrumentation display with an analogue tachometer, cast-aluminum wheels, a two-piece dual seat and dual front disc brakes with Brembo calipers coupled to a single disc brake in the rear.
