The bike has a Gears transmission. Power was moderated via the Dry multi-plate slipper clutch, hydraulically actuated.  

==Chassis==
It came with a 120/70 R17 front [[tire]] and a 200/55 R16 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Double disc 330 mm, semi-floating discs, radially mounted Brembo Monobloc calipers 4-piston in the front and a Single disc 240 mm, caliper with two 34mm pistons in the rear. The front suspension was a  Ohlins FG353P forks 43 mm pressurized, with preload, rebound and compression adjustment, TiN coated sliders while the rear was equipped with a Ohlins rear shock, with rebound, low/high speed compression adjustment, and hydraulic preload adjustment. Aluminum swingarm.. The DESMOSEDICI RR was fitted with a 1.06 Gallon (4.00 Liters) fuel tank. The wheelbase was 56.3 inches (1430 mm) long.

Although devilishly powerful the Ducati Desmosedici’s V4 motor is far more docile and user-friendly than you’d imagine. It makes power smoothly from tickover all the way to 13,800rpm, although as the motor spins past 10,000 rpm the power starts to get very intense. There’s bucketfuls of grunt on tap too, so much so that you can go a gear higher though corners and it’ll still pull hard. Like one of Ducati’s V-twin engines, the Desmosedici is deceptively fast, not like a screaming in-line-four superbike, which feels twice as fast as it’s really going.
