The Ducati MACH 1 was a Single cylinder, 4-stroke, Air-cooled Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Ducati in 1963. Claimed horsepower was 24.0 HP (17.9 KW) @ 8500 RPM.

Engine

A 73.7mm bore x 73.7mm stroke result in a displacement of just 248.5 cubic centimeters.

Drive

The bike has a Gears transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet Multi-plate.

Chassis

It came with a 2.50x18 front tire and a 2.75x18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Drum in the front and a Drum in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic fork while the rear was equipped with a Swinging arm rear suspension with twin, 3-way adjustable shocks. The wheelbase was 53.11 inches (1349 mm) long.

The 1963 Ducati Mach 1 was a 250cc single-cylinder engine motorcycle, the fastest 250 road bike at the time. It was capable of just over 100 mph (160 km/h) in full road going trim (lights and silencer). Many were converted for racing use, and in the hands of Mike Rogers it gave Ducati a TT win when he won the 250 cc production TT. Nowadays it is one of the most sought after machines among enthusiasts of older bikes. The engine was inspired by the renowned SOHC 175, and had a five speed gearbox (a real rarity at the time).
