The engine was a air cooled v2, four-stroke. A 98.0mm bore x 71.5mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1078.0 cubic centimeters. The engine featured a 11.3:1 compression ratio. Fuel was supplied via a desmodromic valve control.

The bike has a 6-speed transmission. The final drive was via chain. Power was moderated via the wet multiplate with hydraulic control.

It came with a 120/70-zr17 front tire and a 180/55-zr17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc. abs. four-piston calipers. in the front and a single disc. abs. two-piston calipers. in the rear. The front suspension was a marzocchi 43mm fully adjustable usd forks while the rear was equiped with a progressive with preload and rebound sachs adjustable monoshock. To celebrate 20 years since the Monster series has been in production, the House of Borgo Panigale has launched the 2013 MY Ducati Monster 1100 EVO 20th Anniversary. The Italian engineers have added some visual upgrades which makes this machine stand out in a crowd, such as the bronze frame, the gold brake callipers, front disc carriers and clutch master cylinders, the champagne front fork bodies, the grey swingarm, engine outer casings and lower triple-clamp, the chrome headlight support, the 90's style rear-view mirrors and seat fabric, plus some restyled components in the bodywork.

In the tech/engine department, it sports the same dependable powerhouse and modern technologies as the base Monster 1100 EVO.

The 2013 MY Ducati Monster 1100 EVO sports an air-cooled, 1078cc, Desmodue Evoluzione powerplant that produces 100 horsepower and 103 Nm of torque. It features the Ducati Safety Pack technology, which includes Ducati Traction Control and ABS as standard, as well as DDA-ready, in the technology department. The suspension is composed of 43mm Marzocchi forks and a Sachs rear suspension unit, which make for a plush ride as well as improved maneuverability.

Visually, it follows the Monster motto, "less is more" , with all of its innards proudly on display, and is available for purchase with a choice between red body and frame plus a white racing stripe or black with a grey frame and racing stripe.
