The engine was a liquid cooled v2, four-stroke. A 106.0mm bore x 67.9mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1198.4 cubic centimeters. The engine featured a 13.0:1 compression ratio. Fuel was supplied via a desmodromic valve control.

2014 Ducati Monster 1200Edit

         

Brand new from the House of Borgo Panigale, the 2014 MY Ducati Monster 1200 is equipped with a liquid-cooled, 1198cc, Testastretta 11° L-Twin cylinder Desmodronic powerplant, which can produce an asphalt-wrinkling 135 horsepower and 118 Nm of torque. Boasting the latest technologies developed by the Italian engineers, such as the Ducati Safety Pack, 8-level traction control, 3-level ABS, 3-level ride-by-wire and the Ducati Riding Modes, preset for optimum power delivery and increased rider safety across a wide range of scenarios.

The suspension system is formed by fully adjustable, 43mm Kayaba forks and a single Sachs rear unit, adjustable in spring preload and rebound damping. This makes for one of the most comfortable, and, in the same time, maneuverable naked bikes available on the market to date.


2014 Ducati Monster 1200 SEdit

         

As opposed to the base Monster 1200, the 2014 MY Ducati Monster 1200 S, as all S sufixed models from the House of Bologna, comes with a race-inspired Öhlins 48 mm forks and a fully-adjustable Öhlins monoshock with integrated piggy-back reservoir, the machined Y-shaped spoke design wheels as well as a LED headlamp and the carbon fiber front mudguard. Also, the S version can be purchased with another paint scheme, consisting of white with a bronze-colored frame and glossy black wheels.

In the tech/engine department, it sports the same, powerful Testastretta 11°, L-Twin cylinder powerplant as its Monster 1200 sibling, but with a different engine mapping, and it can now produce 145 horsepower and 125 Nm of torque. Technology-wise, it has the latest ones developed by the House of Borgo Panigale, such as DTC, DSP, ABS and ride-by-wire.

The 2015 MY Ducati Monster 1200 comes with a proven, liquid-cooled, 1198cc, Testastretta 11° L-Twin with four Desmodromically actuated valves per cylinder, which can produce 135 horsepower and 118 Nm of torque. 21st technologies such as the ride-by-wire, the Ducati Traction Control (DTC), and the multi-calibration 9MP ABS combine to give the rider a choice between three preset riding modes, URBAN, TOURING and SPORT, which can also be individually customized to better suit the riders needs. Also, a frame derived directly from Ducati's racing department, a slipper clutch and a fully adjustable upside-down fork plus a preload-and-rebound adjustable Sachs monoshock mean improved performance, whether on a daily commute, a weekend ride in the countryside or on the race track.

Visually, the bike follows the Monster recipe to the letter, with a red subframe, a yellow rear monoshock, stylish ten-spoked aluminum wheels and with its livery inspired from race bikes, it is sure to stand out in any crowd.


2015 Ducati Monster 1200 SEdit

The 2015 MY Ducati Monster 1200 S features the powerful, 1198cc, liquid-cooled, Testastretta 11° L-Twin with four Desmodromically actuated valves per cylinder. The S suffix means it comes standard with a "performance package", which increases its power to 145 horsepower and 124 Nm of torque, front and rear Ohlins suspension components and the brakes found in the 1199 Panigale superbike. 2016 Ducati Monster 1200 REdit

         

The 2016 MY Ducati Monster 1200 R is the most powerful naked Ducati ever built, boasting a whopping 160 horsepower and 131 Nm of torque from its liquid-cooled, four-stroke, Testastretta 11-degree DS powerhouse that has been re-tuned especially for this model. Also, it has a race-grade chassis and suspension package from Ohlins, which ensure the best lap times possible, no matter the track.

Unlike the base 1200 or the S version, it has also been equipped with a 200mm rear tire, for more grip, a Brembo braking system taken from Ducati's superbikes, forged-aluminum Marchesini wheels and an Ohlins steering damper for optimum cornering abilities. Also, it is 1 kg lighter then its siblings, further increasing the racey feel of this awesome machine.


2016 Ducati Monster 1200 SEdit
