At the 2018 World Ducati Week (WDW), the highlight was the Race of Champions, where 12 Ducati Panigale V4 S bikes were raced, with individual rider livery. The Panigale V4 S's were raced by Andrea Dovizioso, Jorge Lorenzo, Michelle Pirro, Jack Miller, Danilo Petrucci, Tito Rabat, Karel Abraham, Xavier Simeon, Troy Bayliss, Marco Melandri, Xavi Fores, and Michael Rinaldi. Chaz Davies could not race due to injury. The Race of Champions was won by Ducatis long-standing test pilot Michele Pirro.
These bikes were auctioned off on eBay, after the race, where they were sold with the racing upgrades as well as the parts you will need to make them road legal.
The bike used by Troy Bayliss got the highest bid, of £107,000 (approx $138,000 USD / 120,000).
