The bike has a 6-speed, manual transmission.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 100/90-16 front tire and a 120/80-16 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single 260mm disc in the front and a single 240mm disc in the rear. The front suspension was a 35mm Marzocchi telescopic fork while the rear was equipped with a Boge adjustable monoshock.

The 1988 MY Gilera MX-1 125 has, at its heart, a liquid-cooled, two-stroke, 124cc, single cylinder powerhouse that was paired to a six-speed manual transmission with a chain final drive, and can reach a maximum power output of 28 horsepower at 10000 rpm.
In addition, it has been fitted with a 35mm Marzocchi telescopic front fork, a Boge adjustable monoshock as a rear suspension, a full-fairing with a windscreen, cast-aluminum wheels, a single seat, analogue instrumentation dials, front and rear disc brakes and a steel frame.
